Day two started off kind of slowly. We were up at our usual 6:30 ugh! I have gotten into the Food Network shows on Netflix lately and recently watched The Worst Cooks in America. One of the episodes they had the famous chef from a New York Restaurant teach them how to make eggs Benedict. We were staying in the upper west side and her restaurant was only a few blocks away so we tried it out.
It was as yummy as it looks.
Not sure what was to blame but our stomachs were quite angry at us. We waited out the rain and popped some pepto.
We took the subway down to battery park. I have to say that New York's subway system was harder to figure out than Paris' in a different language. They said you needed to be in the front five cars to exit at battery park and we had no clue where we landed in that. So every time we stopped, we ran out and up a car. Not sure why we didnt walk through, but that freaked me out.
We arrived to the park and saw the Statue in person for the first time. She was tiny, but we saw her.
That's her in between our heads.
We walked towards the financial district and happened upon the charging bull amongst a mob of tourists. It was comical to watch and nearly as bad as the Mona Lisa.

There was a tour guide leading people to the New York Stock Exchange so we sort of tagged along for a second. We then walked to One World Trade Center.
The memorial fountain is breathtaking. I tried to capture it in a photo but it is just one of those things you have to witness.
Unfortunately the line for the museum/memorial was really long, so we decided to pass.
To continue our theme of walking a lot,we walked to little Italy. I really enjoyed all of the walking since we got to experience all the architecture and get a feel for all the different districts. The little Italian shop we stopped in for lunch was cute and our Italian waiter was as well. Much needed food (we had something green) and water. To get to our subway station we walked through China town. Oh the smells...
I wanted to see the Empire State Building up close and apparently I had been mistaking it for another skyscraper the entire time. Whoops.
Got the crocs store in there for Scott. Got to love a plastic shoe. I tried to get in more walking since the day was shaping up to be really nice, but Brett was missing his rat friends down in the subway. Those things are massive!
I sat still for all of three minutes when we got back until I wanted to go back outside. Our hotel had a bar attached and really great happy hour specials. We were enjoying the atmosphere and about ready to head up to get ready and then we were asked to be in their photo shoot. Well duh! Free drink and appetizer for "props." All I could think about was the Modern Family episode where Gloria and Phil were in the coffee shop and talking on their fake phones. We were almost that bad. We switched and sat on the same side of the table so we would both be in it. The sun wasn't just right for the photographer and once our bribes were empty, we decided we had enough. Hopefully we looked cute enough that we make the cut.

Cutting it close due to our fame delay, we came in hot to our reservation at the comedy cellar. Lucky for us we had front row seating. The atmosphere was really cozy. The comedians were literally a foot in front of us. Some people we hadn't heard of before and Ben Bailey were performing. Hilarious. Best part of the trip. The cool thing is is that you don't know who will be performing until only a few days before and tickets were only $20.
After the show we headed upstairs and sat at a table next to all the comedians. I debated asking for a picture and telling this one performer how hilarious they were but didn't want to be "that girl". Yelped a place to grab some to go Asian food and then inhaled it back in the hotel. We passed out hard!! Logged 7.2 miles today.
